During SpryWare’s initial design phase of The Market Information Server (MIS), 'Ultra Fast' was on the top of the criteria list. As described throughout our web site several factors are key ingredients to achieve speed, like minimizing latency, develop for Multi Core, and normalize data smarter. The single most important design objective of the MIS was to move each market data event (quote, trade, etc.) through the system as fast and reliably as possible.  While legacy systems may have been designed to minimize average latency time, we are focused on the lowest deterministic latency possible for each market data event.  Averages look good on paper, but outliers can kill an algorithmic trading strategy that is dependent on deterministic behavior.
